#homeTOhome
edited by Luciano Bobba

When silence still dominated the stages of worldwide theatres because of the pandemic, thanks to a masterful technological direction and following a happy intuition, the Milan-based photographer Raul Iacometti created a set in his own home and in the homes of major players in the world of international dance and on this new virtual stage he launched his project #homeTOhome. These are not only screenshots, selfies or Photoshop alterations, but real interactions happening via Whatsapp videocalls. Then, to add a third dimension and accentuate the stage effect, Iacometti situated the smartphone in different rooms of his house and the dancers chose for themselves different environments as background for their plastic poses. As such, the interaction planned in such detail has demolished any architectural barrier, producing the desired effect. More than forty artists have been involved, like lead dancers and soloists, all employed in dance companies of the most important theatres in different places of the world, from Milan to Paris, from Genoa to New York, from Vicenza to Mexico City, from Palermo to Bucharest, from Lucignano to Montecarlo, from Iasì to Forlì, from Naples all the way to Saint Petersburg, big metropolis and small cities. #homeTOhome shows a result both virtual and tangible, of the intense sharing of souls, photographs and sensations in real time.
